Canh Bun Houston: Reviews & Ratings
Always excited to see a new Vietnamese restaurant on my area as I grew up in Southeast Houston and it's always had a healthy South Vietnamese population. This place is very nice inside but first thing I noticed was it wasnt busy. I alway get the egg rolls and vermicelli bowl. Egg rolls were very crunchy and fresh. Chicken in the vermicelli bowl was season very good! Will definitely be coming back! Prices a little bit higher than most Vietnamese restaurants in the area.
Service was on point! Food was amazing . #18 Shaking chicken with fried rice was The shrimp in the Pho were huge and plentiful. Garlic Butter Fried Chicken wings were cooked perfectly and great flavor. Milk Thai Tea was delightful . I can't recommend this place enough!! They just opened 8 days ago and gave 20% off which was a nice surprise.
Came for lunch. Really liked the banh canh (udon soup). Very authentic. There were two sizes. I got the smaller bowl. There were lots of stuff in the soup. Will definitely fill you up. The pho is tasty and on par with other pho places. The rice and grilled pork looked good but it was a little too bland for me. The chicken wings were a little bit dry. Would be good if it comes with a dipping sauce.
We tried the Bun Rieu, pho, papaya salad, pork chop, and the fried chicken. Everything was delicious, but the Bun Rieu was the favorite. They use the same special noodles they are famous for in their Canh Bun, with the option of thick or thin. The broth was rich and full of flavor. We are excited to come back and finally try the Canh Bun!
I got chicken pho. It came out fast and it tasted really good. This is a new restaurant that feels clean and welcoming. My girl got the chicken rice plate and that was banging as well. Definitely gonna be my new go to spot.
I got the #3 (fried rice cake and eggs) and #11 (seafood udon soup). Food was good. The price point can be rough though. Was $65 dollars for a meal for two.
